In 1928 and 1929 Wisconsin Knife Works received U.S. Patents for the fingerjoint cutterhead. Today, WKW continues its leadership in the woodworking industry that the industry has grown to expect from a tooling manufacturer. Finger joint cutters can be made from M-2 or D-2 high-speed steel. In addition, WKW manufactures carbide-tipped and solid carbide finger joint cutters, as well as the exclusive Opti-treated fingerjoint cutters.
