    Resharpening
Resharpening / Special Tooling / How to Order

To properly sharpen a cutting tool, both the O.D. (outside diameter) and the rake (face) must be ground. Grinding only the face will not optimally sharpen the tool because the wear land often remains on the O.D. The proper way to sharpen a tool is to grind the O.D. and rake grind the face to a mirror finish. If both are not properly ground, a razor-sharp edge cannot be obtained, and the reground tool will not cut as well as a new tool.

A dull or improperly sharpened bit will break due to the increased feed pressure. A high percentage of all tool breakage is due to worn, "ovalized" collets.  To ensure maximum performance and life of your router bits, clean and/or replace collets on a regular maintenance schedule.
